CENTRAL OREGON SCHOOL OF BALLET

Home to the longest running Nutcracker in Bend, OR  – going
on 40 years!

We specialize in classical ballet training to dancers of any level. Our program begins with Pre-Ballet (Ages 5-6) and has a curriculum based course for dancers ages 6 – 19 that trains and develops the next generation of dancers.

We offer classes in Classical Ballet Technique, Pointe, Men’s Technique, Partnering, and Variations. We also offer Adult classes for those wishing to begin ballet or those who want to continue their ballet education post-high school.

It is our belief that ballet training is life training. Lessons learned in the studio also turn into valuable life skills that can be applied beyond the classroom. In addition to teaching steps, our qualified teachers are dedicated to fostering self-confidence, respect, and a sense of pride in accomplishment.

Central Oregon School of Ballet strives to instill a deep love of the arts for all of our students whether or not they have professional aspirations in ballet. For those who do wish to pursue a career as a professional dancer Central Oregon School of Ballet provides the proper training and guidance to get them there.

Our Three Divisions of Study

PERFORMANCED DIVISION

Our year-round program is composed of three Levels: Beginning Ballet (1-3), Intermediate Ballet (1-4), and Advanced Ballet. Students perform in the annual holiday production of The Nutcracker, a Spring Classical Ballet, and End of Year Showcase.

RECREATIONAL DIVISION

Our Recreation Division is perfect for students who want to do ballet but aren’t quite ready for the multi-day commitment that comes with advanced level placement in the year round Performance Division.

ADULT DIVISION

Open Adult Classes are offered at Central Oregon School of Ballet. These classes are drop-in based and do not require enrollment.

  • When my daughter first began taking lessons here just a few short months ago, I sensed we had found a wonderful community. But it wasn’t until we experienced Alice in Wonderland that I truly understood the depth of artistry within this studio.
I was absolutely awestruck — not just by the technical talent, but by the way the performance spoke to something deep in the heart of my family. This wasn’t just dance; it was a reminder of why we are made to create, to move, to feel.

I’m thrilled to have my daughter learn from these professionals.

  • BEST ballet school in Central Oregon. Growing up training in one of the best ballet schools in the Willamette Valley set my expectations high for ballet schools. I enrolled my daughter at COSB and could immediately see that the spirit of COSB takes ballet discipline seriously while also fostering a love and excitement for ballet.

Owned by an incredible husband and wife who teach, participate, and produce impressive performances throughout the year, it’s wholesome and a business worth supporting and enrolling yourself and/or your children in.

    Can’t recommend this school enough!

  • COSB teachers are dedicated professionals who provide the highest level of ballet education in Central Oregon. We have been involved with COSB for 5 years and appreciate that owners Elizabeth and Josh create a positive and supportive environment for students of all ages. They offer quality instruction and allow dancers performance opportunities throughout the year in some of the greatest productions in town. The Nutcracker is always magical and the spring performances have been surprising gems. Our daughter looks forward to EVERY class and performance and enjoys the friendships she has made throughout the years. Highly recommend.
